One of my friend's sister in law has been doing this on her blog, and I thought it was a good way of keeping people updated. So here it goes.
PREGNANCY HIGHLIGHTS
How Far Along: 20 Weeks
Size of baby: He's now the size of a cantaloupe! He gulps down several ounces of amniotic fluid every day, both for nutrition and to practice swallowing and digesting. And, these days, those taste buds actually work! Studies show that after birth, babies respond best to tastes they've already had via amniotic fluid. Meaning, think about what you'd like your future child to eat as you prepare your own lunch. (thebump.com)
Total Weight Gain/Loss: 3 pounds
Maternity Clothes: I've been fortunate enough to borrow a lot of maternity clothes, which is nice because those things are expensive. I can still wear some of my regular dress pants and one pair of my jeans, and a lot of regular shirts, but I integrated it all in my closet this weekend.
Gender: It's a BOY!!
Movement: I think I probably felt him about 2 weeks ago, but am just now starting to realize that what I am feeling is probably actual baby movements and not just stomach gurgles.
Sleep: I also borrowed a pregnancy body pillow which has been a life saver, I miss sleeping on my stomach, but am starting to get use to sleeping on my side.
What I miss: Sleeping on my stomach, a draft beer on a hot afternoon, allergy medicine that is stronger than Zyrtec
Cravings: None really - just chocolate milk so far, but I think its just because I have an excuse to drink it
Symptoms: A bad gag reflex when brushing my teeth, coughing, taking pills, etc.
Best Moment this week: Finding out its a boy so we can begin our shopping!
I've picked out bedding that I think we will end up going with, unless something just shows up that we like more. Here is a picture of what we like.If you can't see it well in that picture, you can go to this link and make it two times larger than the original picture and you can tell pretty much every detail.

We'll probably leave 3 walls tan and paint one wall (the wall the crib goes on) a burnt orange color. If you know Joey or me well - you know that we are definitely not pink or blue type people. We wanted something different (I even went to the extreme of saying if it was a girl, I didn't want ANYTHING pink in her room), but I think this fits both of our tastes well. Its so much easier to look for things now that you know what it is and don't have to look at both boy and girl things.
I promise I'll try to be better about updating now that my busiest season is over. We've got an exciting weekend planned with a wedding in Nashville on Friday, a cook-out in Huntsville on Saturday, and a trip to Smith Lake with friends on Sunday, so hopefully I'll find time to blog about that next week. And I know people are going to ask - but no, I haven't taken any belly pictures yet. I'll try to do that one day this week/weekend. Also - they gave us pictures but they are all small and on a long strip of paper. We also got a DVD but I can't make it work on this CPU, so I'll try to find a way to get those uploaded so I can post them as well.

obsessed. can't wait to go crazy!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteyeah!!! Boys are wonderful! Wild, but so sweet and they love their mommas!!
ReplyDeleteI clicked on the link and everything is discontinued!! Did you already order it? Hopefully you can get it from somewhere else. I am so stinking excited, and I can't wait to see you this weekend!!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. That's how I feel about pink for a girl, too. A bit much sometimes (but not all the time).
