Birthdays, Fishing Trip, and Miles

Can you believe its September?  It seems like August flew by.  I had some good times this weekend.  On Friday night, a group of girls got together to celebrate Christine's 25th birthday.  We were all instructed to wear purple, her favorite color, and we met at her house, went to eat at Cocina, and then went to the Redmont after.   It was really nice to see everyone, including some people I hadn't seen in quite a few months.  It is amazing how you can just pick up right where you left off, and its really nice to have a girls night every once in a while.  Here is Christine with the "fountain of youth" and then a group picture of some of the girls there.

On Saturday, Joey and I took the boat out, just the two of us, to Lay Lake.  We had not taken the boat out in a while, and decided to try it on our own for the first time.   We are definitely learning how it works best to put the boat in and get  it out with only two people, one of which cannot drive the boat or back up the trailer, but I trust that it will only get better with time.  We had a really nice time.  It was perfect weather, sunny, but not too hot, with a breeze.  The water was also pretty calm although there were three fishing tournaments going on at the same time.

On Sunday, we went to Huntsville to get Miles back and spend some time with Joey's parents and Gram.  I know many of you have probably heard me complain about Miles, but he really has been relatively good since getting back.  He is letting us sleep most of the night (he usually just stands at the doors and meows all night), but any work we had done to get him and Berkley to be friends is pretty much out the window.  Hopefully that will get better with time as well.

We had a really tough time deciding what to do this weekend between going to the beach with some friends, or going to Opp to see my parents and Nick, Kayla, and Noah.  We've decided to go to Opp, and I'm really excited about hanging out with Noah (and everyone else) for the weekend.  I'm sure there will be lots of pictures to follow.  Hope everyone has a great Labor Day weekend!
