One Year Anniversary

Because our real one year anniversary fell when we were in Connecticut, Joey and I decided to wait and celebrate this past Friday.  We received a $100 gift card to Shulas Steakhouse for having our wedding at the Wynfrey, so we used that to enjoy some fabulous steaks.  Joey had a New York strip, and I had the filet, and we shared some crab mac and cheese and creamed spinach.  We had all intentions of having some of our wedding cake when we got home, but they gave us a free dessert since it was our anniversary (or close enough).  So we "faked" some pictures when we got home with our top layer, but didn't enjoy any until Sunday.  We even got out our cake topper and the "table number" that went on our table.

It might look a little rough, but I'm telling you - still the best cake EVER. It is so moist (hate that word but couldn't think of another one to describe it) and the icing is delicious ... you would never know it has been in a freezer for over a year. I have a feeling I will be gaining about five pounds this week because it is a lot of cake to devour but I will definitely not be letting it go to waste. Please someone come over for some cake and save my waistline!
