If I think Charlotte's three months have flown by, it pains me to think about how fast Caleb's three years have gone. It seems like yesterday he was Charlotte's age!
He is so smart and intuitive. He amazes us every day by something new he says. He can recognize all of his letters, some of his numbers, count to 20, and spell his name.
He is a HUGE daddy's boy! He is obsessed with Joey and wants to be with him at all times of the day.
It breaks my heart 99% of the time, but he loves me when Joey isn't around :)
He is so funny, and most of the time he knows it. He says some of the cutest things. Here are some examples:
* We always tell him we will be back in "two minutes" at night so that he will stay in his bed and go to sleep. Well one day, he made Joey lay in his bed and Caleb told him that he would be back in two minutes. Then Caleb marched out of his room and into our bed and started laying down and watching tv. He is too smart!
* Sometimes when Charlotte is screaming and we can't do anything to calm her down, he will tell her "Charlotte you better stop crying or you are going to get a spanking".
* He was staying with Joey's parents the other day and he said "Nonni, you know the rules". So she asked what they were and he said, "Teetee, wash your hands, and take a nap".
* When he knows he is in trouble, and we only say "Caleb" he will follow by saying "JOSEPH". He knows when he is in trouble we normally say "Caleb Joseph".
These are a few of the things that I can think of right now, but there are so many more. He is such a mess!
He is such a good brother. I'll be honest and say that Joey and I were worried about it. He was so use to us doing everything together and spending all of our time with him that we were worried he wouldn't transition well to not having our undivided attention. He also didn't like it when either of us held a baby. Much to our surprise, he has been great! He loves to give her kisses. He loves it when she is awake and always says "Mama, Charlotte's eyes are OPEN". He is so gentle and kind to her. When she is crying, he will say "Its okay Charlotte" and pat her tummy. He wants her to use the potty like him so bad, and asks us all the time if she can try.
He LOVES the lake and loves going and playing with his cousins. He is fearless around water, which is pretty scary, but he is doing a good job of swimming with his floaties or life jacket on. I'm looking forward to getting him in lessons soon!
He even rode the tube for the first time when we were at Abbie's lakehouse. He wasn't too sure about that though, and fell asleep shortly after they started going (that's him in the yellow jacket leaning on Joey).
He is stubborn! When we were working on his birthday party, he refused to wear his cape at first and I thought the invitations were going to turn out terrible, but then when we started making him fly, he thought it was awesome and begged to be a superhero continuously for a couple days after that.
He makes us laugh. He is ALL boy. He gives the best hugs and kisses. He keeps us on our toes. He loves to snuggle. He has the best belly laugh. He is fiesty. He is a BLESSING. We love you Caleb Joseph!
