When I started planning Caleb's second birthday party, I loved the idea of a superhero theme. I decided to wait until his third birthday party though because I thought it was more age-appropriate, and we had already decided we would probably do it at a bounce house. I couldn't think of anything cuter than having a bunch of three year olds running around at a bounce house place with their capes and masks! So a year and a half in advance, the theme for his third birthday was set!
We had a time with his invitations. He is such a stubborn boy and didn't want to pose with his cape, until we decided to make him fly and he LOVED it! We ended up with several cute shots that we used as party decor, and then picked one out for his invitation.
So even though we were having it at a bounce place, I knew that I still wanted to do cute decorations, backdrops, and a photo booth. I had to come up with some ideas to make it easier to transport these things, so I did the backdrops and photo booth backdrop on a presentation board and used a hanging rack to create the photo booth. Here are some pictures of the decorations.
The photo booth with all of the capes and masks before the kids came.
The photo booth props, including masks and explosions.
And happy birthday signs, glasses, lips, bowties, etc.
The food backdrop
Straw flags
Monthly picture banner. I already had months 1-24 from his first two parties, so I just added months 25-36.
The pictures of Caleb as a superhero using comic book pages as backgrounds.
And the awesome cake made by my friend Emily (if you need any desserts in the Birmingham area, you should seriously check her out, she does AMAZING things: Louise's Cakes N Things)
Most of the kids (except Caleb) enjoyed wearing their capes and masks.
And we got some cute pictures with the photo booth.
The kids (big and small) really enjoyed the bounce houses.
And of couse, Charlotte got some loving too.
Thanks to everyone that came out to celebrate Caleb. We had such a fun time and appreciate everyone being there!
Happy birthday sweet Caleb!
May all your wishes come true!
