Halloween 2014

This was the most fun Halloween by far! Caleb did much better wearing a costume and I loved dolling Charlotte up. I have to admit that I was worried about it though. For all but the last two weeks leading up to Halloween, when I asked Caleb what he wanted to be, he would say "Nothing, just Caleb!" From stories I hear, Joey was never one to dress up for Halloween, so I was terrified that Caleb would be just like him, and that is just not OK with me. You have to dress up to get any candy! So I kept asking over and over, and finally one day he said a firefighter, and I took that and ran! I let him pick out which suit he wanted (red, tan, or black) and he ended up wearing it AND the helmet with no problem. Such a relief!
We had a blast at his class party. They all looked so cute and were so proud of their costumes!

Charlotte's class party was a little more subdued (as I'm sure you can imagine) but they were so adorable. If I ever taught at a daycare it would have to be with those sweet babies! We had a photo shoot while I was there, and its a good thing, because with the wind and the cold of Halloween night, Charlotte only stayed out for 15 minutes or so, and didn't even make it into her full costume.

Sitting up like a big girl! She is doing so good with this now.

She has started trying to get the phone every time I try to take a picture of her
My sweet little pumpkin!

For Halloween night, the street behind ours had a neighborhood get together where we all brought snack foods and let the kids eat and run around until the trick-or-treating officially started.

And then they were off! We had a tough time staying up with them, but they all did really good. Our backdoor neighbor, John Bryan, is the oldest of the group so he was our fearless leader!

And then our friends Abigail and Avery came with a Ranger pulling a hay ride. Caleb loved riding on it and begged to get back on it after every house!
Overall we had a very successful Halloween 2014! It has never been one of my favorite holidays, but now that I have kids it is sneaking up to the top!
